The Local Churches

Not Just Another Church

I have grown up meeting with the local churches, mostly in Tucson, but I have also met with local churches throughout the United States. It wasn't until I got to college that I realized what a unique situation I was raised in. My parents had been meeting with local churches all over the country. Not only so, but traveling to meet with other local churches was much like meeting with the believers in Tucson. People I had never met before were instantly as close as family and there was a real sense of oneness and fellowship between the various localities.

Being on a college campus really heightened my appreciation for the fellowship in the church because there were so many different kinds of students divided according to race, ethnicity, social standing, etc. However, in the meetings of the local churches, people from many different backgrounds and different personal histories meet together to enjoy the same Christ. I realized then that I was blessed to have grown up in such an environment, and that meeting with the local churches provides a wonderful way to pursue the Lord with believers from all walks of life, meeting in one accord.
